How many adults does the cottage sleep?

There is space for 8 – 10 people to sleep comfortably with beds. There are 2 rooms with Queen beds, 1 room with double bottom bunk beds plus a single bed and a sofa bed for 2 in the living room. There is also a sectional couch.

Is there Air Conditioning?

YES! We also have installed ceiling fans in every room. The cottage is one floor and it is shaded by many trees on the lot. We’re sure you’ll agree that the cottage is very comfortable in the summer months.

Is there parking?

Yes, we have a laneway that can fit 4 cars if parked properly.

Are pets allowed?

We would prefer no dogs, as our cottage is completely renovated and we want to keep it looking beautiful. If you have a well behaved, small dog and you must bring your dog, speak to us and we can arrange an additional cleaning fee and security deposit to be applied to your rental period. If there is any damage caused by your pet, you will be responsible for payment to fix it. There are no dogs allowed on the beach.

Can I smoke at the cottage?

No. The cottage is smoke free.

Do you rent in the winter and off season?

Yes, starting in Fall 2018 / Winter 2019.

Do you have a fully stocked kitchen?

Yes, we have everything you could need. If you want your favourite pot for the week, feel free to bring it, but you should have more than you need at Christie’s Cozy Cottage.

Do you provide linens?

We find most people prefer to bring their own linens. If you prefer us to provide you your linens, you will be responsible for cleaning all the linens at the end of your stay. There is a washer and dryer at the cottage. The size of the bed sheets you would need to bring are: 2 Queen beds, 2 single beds, 2 double beds.

Should we bring toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap, etc.?

We provide laundry soap, hand soap and dishwasher soap. Please bring your own consumable such as toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, etc. We will start you off, but please replace as you go.

What type of coffee maker do you have?

We have a simple automatic drip coffee maker for your use at the cottage.

Are the beds comfortable?

The mattress’ are all new and comfortable.

Do you have cribs or high chairs?

We have 2 play pens with mattresses and 2 high chairs that attach to the dining room chairs.

Do you have an outdoor shower?

YES! We have a space outside the sunroom for you to rinse off the sand prior to going into the cottage. It is a cold water shower only.

How close is it to the beach?

It is steps to the private sun beach. You can walk there in about 2 minutes. There are no dogs allowed on this beach.

Do I need to clean it when I leave?

Please leave our cottage in good condition when you leave. We ask that you clean all of your own dishes, leave the dishwasher empty, don’t leave any large messes, put out your garbage on garbage day, have your linens cleaned, (if you used them), etc.. Please leave the cottage in the same condition that you found it.

Can you have campfires?

Yes. You are responsible for all the materials needed and for obeying all Southcott Pine rules for campfires.

Do you rent it for the weekends?

We only rent for the week during the prime summer months. We will rent for the weekends in the mid and off season. See the pricing page for more details.

How much deposit is required to reserve my week?

We require 35% of the rental fee to secure your spot. You can e-transfer us the funds (or if needed mail us a cheque). The full balance will need to be paid 4 weeks prior to your arrival, with your security deposit. See pricing page for more details.

What is the schedule?

All weekly rentals are a Friday – Friday. Check-in is at 4:00pm. Check-out is at 11:00am.

Rental Rate and Fees:

A deposit of 35% of your rental fee is due to confirm you date.

The deposit is for security and shall be refunded within 7-10 days after your Checkout Date provided no deductions are made due to:
i. damage to the property or furnishings;
ii. dirt or other mess requiring excessive cleaning; or
iii. any other cost incurred by Homeowner due to Guest’s stay.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Cancellation Policy: If Guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the refunded as follows:

50% of deposit returned if cancelled 6 weeks prior to the Check-in Date
0% of deposit returned if cancelled less than 4 weeks prior to the Check-in Date
50% of weekly rate will be returned if cancelled more than 4 weeks prior to the Check-in Date
